の作業を必ず行うようにしましょう。この２点をまず考えてから
本文に移りましょう。
【読む前に考えてみましょう】
◇中国でつくられている品物でどのような物を買っていますか？
◇中国人労働者がより高い賃金を要求したら、どうなるでしょうか？
上の内容をまず頭の片隅に置きながら本文を読んでいきます。
試行として、文章を単語レベルに分解してその上にルビとして日本語を
入れてみました。これにより、前から意味を取れる練習になればよいと思います。

China is the world’s largest manufacturing power. Its output of televisions, smartphones, steel pipes and other things surpassed America’s in 2010. China now accounts for a fifth of global manufacturing. Its factories have made so much, so cheaply that they have curbed inflation in many of its trading partners. But the era of cheap China may be drawing to a close.

ところに注目したいところです。

学校英語や受験英語ですと、英語がかなり狭い範囲でしばられているように
感じます。
例えば、出口を英語でと言われれば10人に9人までは恐らくEXITと回答するでしょう。
しかし、今私がたまたまイギリスにいるので気づくのですが
ロンドンではＥＸＩＴよりもWay Outという看板が圧倒的に多いのです。
そう考えると、あらゆる言い回しに慣れ親しんでおくこと、固定は死とも言われるように
柔軟的に言語をとらえていく必要があると、思いました。
